Prattville Man Wins Outdoor Alabama Jon Boat Fishing Package

Donald Patty of Prattville is the winner of a jon boat fishing package given away by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources at the Alabama National Fair. The giveaway was sponsored by Outdoor Alabama magazine, the official publication of the Department.

Joe’s Motor Service, Inc. of Hartford, Alabama, donated the 14-foot Rhino jon boat. “For the second year, Joe’s Motor service provided a boat for the giveaway,” said Outdoor Alabama managing editor Kim Nix. “This year we were also able to give away two rods and reels and a tackle box to make it a complete fishing package.” The fishing equipment was donated by Shakespeare^®.

Patty and wife Joy were surprised and pleased to win the package. Since the couple just built a pond on the family farm, they plan to enjoy fishing there with the new boat and fishing gear.

In addition to the fishing package, Patty also received a one-year subscription to Outdoor Alabama magazine. A similar giveaway is planned for the 2007 Alabama National Fair.
