Replay of Interactive Virtual Field Trip to Weeks Bay
In May 2009, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources produced an interactive virtual field trip, allowing some 1500-2000 students from across the state, country, and globe to "come to" the Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Baldwin County. The students were able to learn about estuaries and the animals and habitats native to Alabama's coastal wetlands, and were also able to send in questions that were answered live on-air.
Community Fishing Program Expands
Students from Tuskegee Public Elementary School enjoyed a beautiful day of fishing, while also taking part in one of the first partnerships between the Community Fishing program and private landowners.
Grasses in Classes Program Gives Students Hands-On Experience
Students from Daphne High School recently completed a new project of planting Pickerel Weed and Sagittaria along the shoreline of the 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center in Spanish Fort.
